CRIA bullshit revealed
p2pnet.net News:- Canadian Net expert Michael Geist admits he’s a bit late with the news that Canadian Heritage has released the 2005 Music Industry Profile.
But never mind because the data underscore the policy of entertainment cartel units to rely on outright lies and dis- and misinformation rather than reality.
“The most noteworthy data point comes in the introduction – Canadian artists have seen their sales increase since 2001,” says Geist.
“Sales of Canadian albums have increased from 6.8 million units in 2001 to 8.5 million in 2004, an increase of 25.3%. In contrast, foreign artists have seen their sales fall 20.2% over the same period.”
And that, in turn, represents, “a remarkable increase in Canadian artists’ share of sales in Canada from 16% in 2001 to 25% in 2004,” says Geist, adding:
“You read that correctly – despite CRIA’s claims of woe, Canadian artists are enjoying unprecedented commercial success.”
CRIA is short for Canadian Recording Industry Association of America, a clone of the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), also owned by Warner Music, EMI, Sony BMG and Vivendi Universal.
Since September, 2003, the RIAA has been engaged in a bitter war with its owners’ customers as it tries to sue them into becoming Big Four Organized Music-compliant consumers.
The Big Four want to be able to use their CRIA to do the same in Canada but so far, they haven’t managed to buy quite the same amount of political cooperation as they have in the US and elsewhere.

CRIA is an acronym for Canadian Recording Industry Association. The Association represents the Canadian music industry and Canadian musicians only. Please correct your mistake.
Thank you.

“The Association represents the Canadian music industry and Canadian musicians only.”
Not withstanding the claims of some “associations”, no “association can represent
-corporations and employees
-landords and renters
-music publisher and songwriters
-soldiers and generals
-customers and stores
-students and teachers
-doctors and patients
-music industry and musicians
…..
The resons are obvious: Conflct of interest.

….no matter how these criminal companies (they admitted their pricefixing crimes already!) name their different branches all over the globe.
So lets make it easy and just call them collectively MAFIAA no matter what country they operate and under whatever (3)4 letter acronym!

music industry and musicians..hmmm
Let us the RIAA member’s pension and stock option plans for artists, and compare them to the ones they have for their very wealthy and incredibly compensated executives.
Well, actually there is nothing to compare, as here are no stock options or pensions for artists.
