New prophet Muhammad furor

p2pnet.net News:- Denmark is once again in trouble over the prophet Muhammad.

Slightly more than a year ago Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published satirical cartoons featuring Muhammed and they generated a huge international uproar on- and offline which has yet to die down fully,

In the latest fuss, "Denmark’s national TV2 channel aired excerpts from a video depicting Muhammad as a beer-drinking camel and as a drunken terrorist attacking Copenhagen," says the Jakarta Post, also stating:

"While condemning a video lampooning the Prophet Muhammad … Muslim leaders here Sunday asked Muslims not to be provoked and suggested the case be taken to an international court."

The video, which shows members of the youth wing of an anti-immigrant party, "mocking the Prophet Muhammad, was taken down Monday from two Web sites, says the Associated Press.

"The leader of the Danish People’s Party youth wing also said that two of its members who could be seen in the video had gone in to hiding," says the story, going on that it was the work of artists’ group Defending Denmark and in a message posted with the video, "the group said it had infiltrated the Danish People’s Party Youth, known as DFU, for 18 months ‘to document (their) extreme right wing associations".

Artist Martin Rosengaard Knudsen is quoted as having told Danish public radio, "This is not an example of something that is meant to provoke. This is an example to show how things are in Danish politics."

"I strongly condemn the behavior of members of the youth wing of the Danish People’s Party," another AP story has Danish prime minister Fogh Rasmussen saying.

"Their tasteless behavior does in no way represent the way the Danish people or young Danish people view Muslims or Islam."
