Welsh Choir goes to Hollywood
p2pnet.net News:- Proving anything can happen to anyone, anywhere, any time, “A North Wales choir signed up by a top boy band manager was last night set for Hollywood stardom.”
Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir has, “just landed a lucrative recording deal with the world’s leading record company, the Universal Music Group,” says icNorthWales.com.
Not only but also, “yesterday the choristers discovered British movie producer Zygi Kamasa has optioned the rights to the unique story of their rise to fame.”
Kamasa was producer on Bend it Like Beckham and co-producer of George Clooney`s Good Night and Good Luck, says News Wales, going on:
“Film producer Kamasa said: ‘The story of this choir who were picked from obscurity to be signed by the biggest record label in the world is a classic feel-good story that has huge potential, particularly when you consider that the average age of the singers is 60′.”
Daniel Glatman, manager of the “phenomenally successful boy band” Blue, “discovered” the choir singing at a wedding reception, according to icNorthWales.com.
The “oldest boy band in the world” they may be, but that doesn’t stop them from having a web page featuring a photo album packed with pix such as the one in the upper right. The caption reads:
“We rehearse in Acrefair School Hall, just off the A539 between Ruabon and Llangollen on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.. Visitors to the Choir’s rehearsals are always very welcome, so if you find yourself in our area on one of those evenings just come along and listen in.”
