Firefox 2 – out on Tuesday
p2pnet.net News:- Microsoft’s IE7 is nigh.
So what?
Firefox 2 is due out on Tuesday.
Great news!
“It’s the first update since last November for the browser – used by 11 to 15 percent of people on the Internet, according to independent and company estimates,” says The Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
And The Washington Post’s Brian Krebs was asked, “Why should I bother upgrading to IE 7 since Firefox is a superior browser? IE6 works fine for the limited amount of usage I need.”
His response: “Would you leave a loaded gun sitting on the table in a house with toddlers? Hopefully not. Okay, that’s a little harsh, but think of it this way: lots of things on Windows use IE’s built in rendering engine, and if you have a more secure version of the browser available, why not switch to it? This advice is especially aimed at households where more than one person uses the PC. “
“Final note: If you want to install IE 7, keep in mind that it requires you to validate your copy of Windows.”
Say no more.

If you’re using XP you may have noticed a feature called “Set Program Access and Defaults” in the start menu. This allows you to set your default browser (to Firefox) and disable IE.
So no excuses…
