Vista RTM delay
p2pnet.net News:- The RTM (release to manufacturing) version of Microsoft Vista, or build number 5824, won’t be available until the second week of November, say Taiwan PC makers who had the news from Microsoft, says Digi Times.
“The RTM build 5824 was originally set to be released this week after reducing the number of bugs found in the Windows Vista Release Candidate 2 (RC2) version from 1,450 to around 500, the sources noted,” says the story, adding:
“However, additional bugs were found in the RTM build 5824 version, and together the bugs could paralyze an upgraded Vista-capable Windows XP OS, said the sources.”
Meanwhile, People who buy Dell, HP and Gateway PCs this Christmas season, “will be offered free or heavily discounted coupons to upgrade to Microsoft Corp.’s new operating system, Windows Vista, under a program designed to spur sales despite Vista’s delay,” says The Boston Herald.
Or they could simply download the new Firefox 2 for free, and get it without having to wait.
