Digital Freedom Campaign
p2pnet.net News:- “Consumers are willing to pay their fair share for the right to access music using new, cutting edge devices – but they shouldn’t submit to being gouged by the big studios and record labels.”
That’s the bottom line for the new Digital Freedom Campaign launched, says the web site, to defend the rights of students, artists, innovators, and consumers, “to create and make lawful use of new technologies free of unreasonable government restrictions and without fear of costly and abusive lawsuits”.
What to do?
Sign the Digital Freedom Campaign petition, or send a letter to congress, among other things, because:
“Digital technology enables literally anyone and everyone to be a creator, an innovator or an artist– to produce music, to create cutting-edge videos and photos, and to share their creative work. Digital technology empowers individuals to enjoy these new works when, where, and how they want, and to participate in the artistic process. These are basic freedoms that must be protected and nurtured.”

Did anyone see RIAA’s op-ed on CNet yesterday? The response from the CEA was right on point. Here’s the link: http://news.com.com/5208-1025-0.html?forumID=1&threadID=22796&messageID=201567&start=-1&reply=true.”
