Orchard, Snocap, MySpace deal
p2pnet.net News:- Indie music marketeer The Orchard and DRM provider SNOCAP believe they’re on the way to corporatizing a significant segment of indie music output, thanks to Rupert Murdoch’s MySpace.
They say they’ll, "deliver e-commerce technology to Orchard-distributed labels and artists though their MySpace profiles or web sites".
Orchard users will be allowed to sell their tunes on MySpace pages with SNOCAP providing what’s described as a, "secure commerce environment" and The Orchard, "providing royalty administration, accounting, and payment services".
The Orchard is owned by Dimensional Associates, the private equity arm of JDS Capital Management, Inc., whose portfolio includes online download service eMusic, with all that implies.
