From reading previous stories on this, here and elsewhere, it would seem that ROMS is trying to pay money out but the RIAA et al are refusing to accept it so they can continue their attacks.

If only alledging can lead to the shut down by ISPs in fear of losing safe harbor and if a ruling of passing an infringed work for milliseconds is held to be "infringement" then you see the beginning of the end of the internet as we now know it.

You also see the furthering of the big brother mentality as every ISP will have to monitor their users to stay out of lawsuits. We have already seen some of the manipulations where the cartels and their watchdogs were directly responcible for the putting of works to be infringed into the hands of those they wished to eliminate. A third party with a stealth program or security that prevents ready discovery by the ISP long enough to transmit several milliseconds of data would be enough to alledge for control. Not enough time for the ISP to actually check and discover but long enough to do the job.

It begins to look like private unregulated neighbor to neighbor networks may be the only way to protect from big brother and the sniffers that will require every moment of every millisecond to be monitored.

I don't think the IFPI actually had to prove AllofMP3 was actually infringing on any of their copyrights... only alledge it.

Did they actually prove that AllofMP3.com is infringing copyright? Or did they show they're following Russian copyright laws and making payments to ROMS, but ROMS is the one that is failing to deliver them?

Or is the divine word of the industry, with no investigative or direct authorative power good enough to skip the entire progress and just render them guilty?
