Chilean hackers nailed
p2pnet.net News:- Four hackers suspected of being part of an international group that’s broken into thousands of government sites have been arrested in Chile.
The group penetrated more than 8,000 sites, including some run by Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Turkey, the United States and Venezuela, says police chief Gerardo Raventos, quoted by the Associated Press, which goes on:
“It was not clear whether the hackers were suspected of vandalizing Web pages or stealing information but one suspect shouted to reporters, “that the group had acted ‘for fun’,” says the story.
Meanwhile, “Raventos said the suspects were members of a ‘big” international hackers’ group and had been under investigation for eight months with the cooperation of authorities in the United States, Israel and several South American countries,” says AP, stating he identified Leonardo Hernandez, 23, as the leader.
“Hernandez was known in cyberspace as Nettoxic and is wanted in several countries,” he said, according to AP, whic adds the other suspects were SSH-2, Codiox and Phnx.
