You WILL watch their ads!
p2pnet.net News:- They’re determined you shall be shafted.
‘They’ are developers at a company called BlackArrow and their business plan is to force you to watch TV and online ads ——— whether you like it or not.
“BlackArrow has raised $14.75 million to develop a way to insert advertisements in TV and Internet video programming, and it shows the ads even if people try to skip over ads with their DVRs,” says VentureBeat.
Roughly a quarter of US households have digital video recorders, “and that percentage is growing – and they’re skipping the 30-second spots in greater numbers,” says the story. But that cannot be allowed.
“Advertisers are now saying that’s uncool,” says the story.
“Uncool” to skip an ad?
It seems so. And does that tell advertisers maybe it’s time to re-think their approach and make adverts that aren’t so patently moronic?
Nope. Instead, they’d rather ram their ads into you al la Stanley Kubriks’ Clockwork Orange.
Who’s putting up the $14,750,000
Intel Capital, Mayfield and Polaris Venture Partners, “as well as Comcast”.

What about the volume control? Will they disable the mute button during the ad?

comcast just did an upgrade on my DVR that lets me ffwd even faster now and i can literally skip entire commercial breaks in less then 2 seconds (if your quick with the play button and dont accidently ffwd into the show)
but wtf i mean commercial breaks are times to go take a leak.. get a drink.. hit the bong.. i mean just cause i cant ffwd it dont mean im paying attention

_They_ finally converged the two different technologies: TV (push) and Internet (pull). No, they do not disable fast-forwarding ads. But you can’t get a drink, because you WILL pay attention to the commercials. At the end of the block, the crippled device will stop and you type a number or answer a multiple-choice question (Was it an ad for Viagra or Aspirin?) related to the ad to continue watching the show, be it Blue Ray or video-on-demand.
