MacArthur Foundation ONI slip

p2pnet.net News:- There’s a post on the MacArthur Foundation site, today, headed Shining a Spotlight on Internet Filtering.

It mentions the Open Net Initiative (ONI), “of The Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School” which, “studies the filtering and surveillance practices of national governments and corporate entities” and includes a link to the ONI site.

Unfortunately, however, the MacArthur Foundation got it wrong, using .com instead of .org.

Instead of leading to the ONI page, the link points to a site whose current owners say they’re, “accepting offers from interested parties willing to obtain ownership rights over the domain name”.

And while you’re making up your mind, you can check out various dating services, including one for Christian singles which also offers Women, Soulmate and Russian Brides.

Meanwhile, the correct url for the ONI, a collaborative partnership of the Citizen Lab at the Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto, Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School, the Advanced Network Research Group at the Cambridge Security Programme, University of Cambridge, and the Oxford Internet Institute, Oxford University, is http://opennetinitiative.org/.
