EMI online video deal
p2pnet.net News:- Organized Music cartel member EMI is the only one of the Big Four not to have made an arrangement with Google, but that doesn’t mean it’s planning to ignore online videos.
In fact, it’s agreed to license its music videos. But not to GooTube. Instead, it’s struck a deal with online video portal and on-demand cable service operator by Gotuit Media, says Associated Press.
"The multiyear agreement, reached this week, calls for the companies to share revenue from advertising on Gotuit.com," says the story. "The deal allows only U.S. computer users who visit the site to access EMI’s videos."
Interesting, given that EMI is a UK company, but not surprising. It is, after all, only bidnes.
The other cartel members are Vivendi Universal (France), Sony BMG (Japan and Germany) and Warner Music, US, all of whom are suing their customers and, increasingly, each other.
Details of the EMI deal weren’t disclosed, says AP.
