More praise for ART act authors
Shortly after octogenerian MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) boss Jack Valenti heaped high praise on US senators Dianne Feinstein and John Cornyn for coming up with the Artists’ Rights and Theft Prevention Act (ART Act), they learned the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has done the same.
This time, it was Mitch Bainwold, the seldom-seen RIAA chairman and ceo, who was handing it out.
"It’s natural that Senator Cornyn, the former Attorney General of Texas, who has a strong record of defending intellectual property rights, would identify this important need and demonstrate leadership by introducing this legislation," he said.
"I would like to thank the Senator and his colleague, Senator Feinstein, a long time defender of copyrights, for their commitment to protecting creators and our economy."
