Adobe may sue Microsoft
p2pnet.net News:- Adobe is giving the the European Union information about Microsoft’s plans to offer the capability to export documents to PDF files in its upcoming Office 2007 package, says TG Daily. And it may follow up with a lawsuit.
Quoting Germany’s Euro am Sonntag newspaper, Reuters has Adobe ceo Bruce Chizen saying there were two options: to sue Microsoft directly or to work with the authorities and provide them with the necessary information.
“We’re doing the latter,” he says in the story. “Then we’ll see.”
Microsoft Vista’s fixed document formats would compete with Adobe’s PDF and, “Microsoft has pledged to make changes to its version,” says Reuters.
“Chizen added that Adobe … was considering offering some of its more sophisticated software for photo and video editing over the Internet, financed by advertising.”
