German school attack

p2pnet.net News:- “A German teenager who was found dead after he stormed his former school and shot five people committed suicide by shooting himself in the face, a prosecutor said Tuesday,” says Associated Press.

“Sebastian Bosse, 18, went on a rampage in his former high school in Emsdetten, near the Dutch border, on Monday, shooting and injuring four students and the school janitor. Police commandos later found him lying dead in a second-floor room.”

Now German lawmakers are demanding a crackdown, “on violent computer and simulated war games … over concerns that they may have helped inspire a young man to attack his former school with guns and explosives,” says Reuters, going on:

“The young man, identified only as Bastian B., was known to authorities and due in court on Tuesday for weapons violations, local police said. According to German media reports, he had a fondness for war simulation and computer games.”

Quoting the Netzeitung site, the story has Wolfgang Bosbach, deputy head of chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU) in parliament, saying, “We need effective guidelines to protect children from exposure to different types of media, but we don’t need (simulated) killer games that can lead to brutalisation”.

“Bosbach added that scientific studies have shown violent games have disturbing effects on some children,” it says.

As far as I know nobody has ever conducted a research that unquestionably shows that violent games are the cause of these attacks. If a person is mental there’s a billion things that can trigger an outburst of violence in him.

It’s not like a normal person who plays e.g. TrueCombat: Elite suddenly decides: “Hey, I’m going to my school and kill a bunch of pupils!”, because he’s playing a game which contains some degrees of violence.

Christians at it again.. Jesus Christ!
