Prince Charles’ phone tapped
p2pnet.net News:- The ‘royals’ editor from Britain’s The News of the World has been accused of hacking into Prince Charles’ phone lines.
Clive Goodman was arrested after claims by members of the Prince of Wales’s household of security breaches, says The Times Online.
“Goodman, 48, from Putney, south west London, has been suspended from his job since the investigation began in August,” says the story. “He admitted being part of a plot to intercept voicemail messages of the Royal family and other celebrities from November 1, 2005 to August 9, 2006.”
Glenn Mulcaire, 35, admitted the same charge and five counts of intercepting messages on the mobile phones, says the BBC, adding:
“The case came to light in November 2005 following the publication of a story in the News of the World about Prince William’s knee injury.
“William began to fear aides’ mobile phone voicemail messages were being intercepted.”
Goodman apologised, “unreservedly to the three members of the royal household staff concerned and their principals, Prince William, Prince Harry and the Prince of Wales,” said his lawyer, adds the story.
