CNET editor lost in bad weather

p2pnet.net News:- CNET.com digital music writer and senior editor James Kim is still missing after he went for help when he and his family were marooned in deep snow in southwest Oregon.

His wife, Kati, and the Kim’s two young children were rescued on Saturday after being trapped in a car for nine days, says The Seattle Times.

Kati waved a yellow umbrella whic was spotted by search helicopter.

“Oregon authorities said the family burned tires to keep warm, and that Kati Kim, 30, Penelope, 4, and Sabine, 7 months, were in remarkable shape when found,” says

As of last night, James was still missing and searchers are tracking his footprints through a rugged area northwest of Grants Pass, says the story, adding:

“Oregon State Police Lt. Doug Ladd said there was ‘a very reasonable chance’ that Kim is still alive. According to the family, he had some outdoor experience.”

Rescuers are now searching for Kim in a 5-mile stretch of a narrow canyon a few miles from where the car was found, Josephine County Undersheriff Brian Anderson said at a press conference Tuesday, says CNET News.

Efforts currently involve four helicopters, two rafts floating down the Rogue River, Sno-Cats, four-wheel-drive vehicles and at least a dozen searchers on foot, the story has Anderson saying.
