FBI ‘defacement’ alert
p2pnet.net News:- Information on attacks purportedly from the FBI targeting some web sites has been received by the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
“The attack involves defacement of the Web sites by posting the FBI seal and an anti-piracy warning stating the site has been seized by the FBI,” says IC3. “In some instances, the registrant information has also been hacked and changed to appear as if the site is registered to the FBI.”
Although game sites are for the moment the primary targets, “the attack may expand to other Web sites,” says the post, adding, “If you have experienced this situation, please notify the IC3 by filing a complaint at www.ic3.gov.”
