Starbucks turns record label
p2pnet.net News:- A few days back Jim Goodman suggested Starbucks’s Hear Music store in Santa Monica, LA, isn’t a coffee shop with a music store inside …
… it’s a music store with a Starbucks inside.
He got that right, and now Starbucks has moved its sip-and-listen scheme up a big notch by announcing it’s teamed up with a label to produce a record – starring no less a personage than the truly legendary Ray Charles.
Starbucks and Concord Records say they’ll release a CD featuring Charles singing duets with the likes of Elton John, Norah Jones, BB King, Diana Krall, Michael McDonald, Johnny Mathis and Willie Nelson.
It’ll be out by the end of the summer, say the two companies.
