The Ontario gov't is, as usual, acting in it's own self-interest here. If gambling is such a problem for the people of Ontario, then what about all the casinos? Even worse, how about the lotteries?

The real message: NO GAMBLING FOR YOU COMMONERS UNLESS YOU GIVE US OUR CUT!

And when you bring this point up to the typical empty-headed serf walking the streets of Ontario, they are all programmed to say something to the effect of 'well, it brings more tax money into the province to pay for schools' and on and on, which is total bullshit (the lottery money goes directly into the tax base with all other revenues, it is NOT ear-marked for anything!)

The lottery and casinos are simply a method to tax the dumbest and weakest people in the population. It's not good when private entities facilitate it, but it's DOWN RIGHT EVIL when your government gets into that business. What's next, mafia-style protection scams and racketeering? Oh wait they've already been caught doing that...

Don't worry, in Canada, important freedom-related issues like this end up taking a back seat to hot-button distractions like bitching and moaning because some judge ordered (rightfully so) all religious symbols out of an Ontario courthouse a few days ago...

The people in this country like to think their so goddamn smart but they are on average just as goddamn stupid as those dummies to the south.
