BBC opts for Zudeo

p2pnet.net News:- When Azureus launched its Zudeo content indexing site for finding and sharing large video files, it said it’d be partnering with 20 major, TV and film studios to provide free programs.

Its collaborators weren’t named at the time, but at least one of them has since ushered itself into the limelight —– the BBC.

“Until now, most BBC programmes found on peer-to-peer file-sharing networks have been illegal copies,” it says.

But, “Users must also download a program to access and upload content” which will, of course, come with digital restriction consumer control.

Or as the BBC puts it, “The titles will be protected by digital rights management software to prevent the programmes being traded illegally on the internet”.

Will this also create a data flow of user choices and other personal and private (potential marketing) information whic’ll wind up in BBCb and Azureus and Associates databases?

No pricing structure for the BBC content on Zudeo has been revealed, says the story, adding:

“Azureus is expected to announce other partnerships in the New Year.”

Azureus has been getting more and more bloated, and now they’re in bed with the corporations. Time to stop using their shit software I guess. Not like bittorrent stuff is worth a shit anymore anyways, USENET is where it’s at now…
