VeriSign movie downloads
p2pnet.net News:- Net security and address company VeriSign has joined the rash of corporations desperate to get into what they see as the next Net gold-rush —
— movie downloads.
VeriSign will start distributing, "family-friendly movies early next year" through a scheme oganized by AxiomTV, a subsidiary of Axiom Entertainment Inc, says The Associated Press.
"Axiom is developing an Internet TV channel that will run kid-themed, parent-approved movies and shows," it says.
"It will deploy technology called ‘Mother’ to block pornography, violence and foul language."
A test version will go up on January 8, with general availability slatted for February 1, says AP, adding, "Subscribers would buy and install some cables and other simple hardware to watch movies on their television."
