Madonna sues Warner
p2pnet.net News:- Edgar Bronfman Jr has only just become Warner Music Group’s new boss and already, Madonna is after the company’s scalp, claiming breach of joint venture and fraud.
Well it’s not Madonna, actually, but her Maverick Recording which alleges WMG “breached the joint-venture contract by not providing Maverick with ‘guaranteed services, which imposed financial hardship’,” states a Hollywood Reporter story here, going on:
“Maverick claims that it was forced to incur about $30 million in costs and expenses on sales and marketing, which, under the deal, WMG was supposed to pay. Additionally, the action says that WMG engaged in faulty accounting of revenue and failed to support Maverick’s Latin division, which was forced to shut down.”
The Madonna label also says WMG chairman and ceo Roger Ames “engaged in a pattern of false promises and misrepresentations of fact,” adds the report.
