Dutchtorrent.org BREIN threat
p2pnet.net News:- The name and address of the person who runs a small torrent site in The Netherlands must be handed over to entertainment cartel heavy BREIN, a Dutch judge has ruled.
Dutchtorrent.org, hosted on a private ADSL connection, has been temporarily closed for several weeks, “but announced that it would return as soon as the (BREIN) storm was over,” says Torrrentfreak, going on:.
“The admins of dutchtorrent.org initially thought that they were safe, and didn`t expect that their ISP would give in to the anti-piracy lobby. However, the present ruling leaves the ISP no other choice than to comply, although they initially refused to cooperate with BREIN.”
However, De Heij decided the admin can keep his Netconnection because it’s regarded as a “basic human need,” saus the story, adding:
“Judge De Heij further said that the admin willingly facilitated copyright infringement, but that he cannot be held personally responsible for the infringing activities of the users of the site.
Will BREIN now use the information against the dutchtorrent.org admin? That’s unclear, says Torrentfreak.
