HD-DVD, Blu-Ray solution
p2pnet.net News:- Consumers aren’t exactly flocking in droves to buy either HD-DVD or Blu-Ray or products. And why should they be?
Why either or?
Enter HDBR-DVD. Because it seems at last, two companies have answered the question: find a way to play both formats.
Warner Bros has already said its Total HD disc can do the job and at the other end of the equipment spectrum, at the International Consumer Electronics Show yesterday, LG Electronics said it has a box which’ll play both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, says The Toronto Star.
Almost.
But the solution isn’t cheap. Its Super Multi Blue dual-format high definition player, due out next month, will sell for $1,200.
However, “while it will display the full range of interactive features contained on Blu-ray discs, such as menus that appear while the film is playing, it will not play similar interactive elements contained on HD DVD discs.”
