Mamas & Papas Doherty dead

p2pnet.net News:- Canada’s Denny Doherty, founder member of the famous The Mamas & the Papas, has died in his home in Mississauga, Ontario, just outside of Toronto.

He was 66 and the cause of death was kidney failure following surgery.

“Denny Doherty, Cass Elliot, John Phillips, and Michelle Phillips formed the group after previous folk groups ( The Mugwumps, The New Journeymen ) failed,” says a press release.

Mamma Cass Elliot died of a heart attack in 1974, and John Phillips died of heart failure in 2001/

Michelle Phillips is the only surviving member of the original group.

    It says he died on the 19th and gives more info on his accomplishments in life.
