Warner, Sony BMG, China deal

p2pnet.net News:- Big 4 Organized Music cartel members Sony BMG and Warner Music have announced “strategic investments” in Access China Media Solutions, a so-called “Chinese company” that’s a, “partnership between U.S.-based digital content delivery company Melodeo Inc. and Japan’s Access Co. Ltd,” says Reuters.

“Access China will be focused on developing technology to help consumers download complete songs to their phones, moving beyond the delivery of ringtones and ringback tones,” says the story, going on:

“The music industry sees mobile distribution, which is for the most part controlled by cellular network operators, as a more secure way to distribute music than the Internet or CDs.”

Says Warner’s Michael Nash in an Associated Press story, “‘We are definitely going to advise the company with respect to both (digital rights management) and also the consumer experience on the platform,” also stating:

“‘This is next generation. This is really very much about full-track (downloads) and mobile-casting.”
