Oz prosecutor in kiddie porn case
p2pnet.net News:- Dr Patrick Power was chairman of Australia’s New South Wales Youth Justice Advisory Committee, as well as the deputy senior crown prosecutor at the NSW Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
And he could soon be jailed for up to two years’ jail after being found with pornography featuring children on his PC.
“He was arrested on 6 July 2006 and charged with possession of child pornography,” says the Wikipedia. “It is alleged that a DPP employee found an explicit video on a computer hard drive that he used for work and private purposes. He was excused from appearing at his court mention.”
An explicit video recording with pornographic footage of minors was allegedly discovered by an IT employee after Power brought his hard drive into the office to be repaired, says The Australian, going on:
“The foreshadowed guilty plea opens the way for NSW Director of Public Prosecutions Nicholas Cowdery to take action to remove Power, 54, from his $230,000-a-year job. It is also likely to trigger a move by the NSW Bar Association to strip Power of his rank as senior counsel.”
When the story came to light last summer, the Sydney Morning Herald had director of public prosecutions Nicholas Cowdery QC saying, “the presumption of innocence applies and it is essential that Dr Power be treated fairly.
“He has many friends at the ODPP, some of whom, including myself, have known him for more than a decade. We are all shocked and saddened by these events.”

There’s much more to this story than meets the eye … Dr Power was tipped off by his employer that the explicit child porn video had been found on his personal/work laptop; he was allowed to leave his office and return to his home; he was not arrested by the NSW Police until two days later; he’s had 5 court hearings and not been required to attend a single one. He is required to appear for sentencing on 24 April 2007.
In 1991, Patrick Power prosecuted a 41 yo NSW mother of two and step-mother of 4 children. Her name is Roseanne Catt. She was sentenced to 12 years and 3 months gaol. Her crime? Threatening to expose a NSW mid-north coast peadophile ring that had touched the lives of her step-children.
Patrick Power headed the prosecution with the assistance of a currupt NSW police officer, Peter Thomas, who was also implicated by the step-children in alleged abuse along with their father and others.

Patrick Power was allowed to resign and so he keeps all his benefits. If this had not been VERY SERIOUS it would have been covered up. There is much they are not telling us. No one has joined the dots.
