MySpace sexual offenders dbase
p2pnet.net News:- Rupert Murdoch’s MySpace, a popular spot for online sexual predators, says it’ll ‘donate’ use of its sex offenders database to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
This is to, “help law enforcement in their investigations,” says MySpace owner News Corp, according to Reuters.
But, “MySpace’s critics said the measure failed to address a central threat to youngsters on its network from adult sex predators who pose as teens, one they say could be fixed with steps to verify users’ ages on the site,” says the story, going on:
“Sex offender data is [sic] currently collected by individual state authorities. MySpace and background verification company Sentinel Tech Holdings Corp. developed a technology that combines those registries to help police keep track of some 600,000 convicted sex offenders.
“The database includes photo-matching software tools that can help authorities cross-reference photos or descriptions of predators against registered offenders, especially those who have failed to keep their registration up to date.”
The families of five girls aged between 14 and 15 are suing MySpace for negligence and fraud. They say their daughters were sexually assaulted by men they’d met on MySpace.

And just how do you expect to verify ages? A DNA scan, perhaps?

If your child is molested by someone they met on MySpace, you are a bad parent because you neglected to follow your parental responsibility to bring up your child and monitor outside influences. Sex offenders don’t usually reoffend.
