MySQL says it’s going public

p2pnet.net News:- MySQL AB plans to go public this year, Marten Mickos, the man who up heads the Swedish firm has told Heise Online.

The Initial Public Offering will take place in the US, where MySQL has an office, says the story, going on:

“In 2006, the Swedes posted record sales for the second year in a row, though no specific figures have been published.

“At the same time, MySQL has announced a new offer: MySQL Enterprise Unlimited is a corporate-wide MySQL license with comprehensive support services for 32,000 euros per year.

Mickos told Heise he wasn’t aware of any specific plans for Oracle’s MySQL support, which a number of new services are reporting, “but he did confirm that Oracle is selling MySQL as part of its Unbreakable Linux”.
