China Number One EU pirate

p2pnet.net News:- A recent European Commission survey says China accounts for two-thirds of all counterfeit goods seized in the European Union, says ZeeNews.

Counterfeiting and piracy costs the global economy at least USD 100 billion every year, according to WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) warns, says the story.

The statement came during the third global congress on combating counterfeiting and piracy with attendees including the heads of Interpol and the International Chamber of Commerce.

I just love these sort of stats “Counterfeiting and piracy costs the global economy at least USD 100 billion every year”

    Costs who, I wonder?

It also smacks of the sort of analyst report that says the X market will be Y big in Year Z.

unless it involves the RIAA or the BSA then you have to figure in Q and we all know that means the X market will be Y^2 big in Year Z. Unless those damn pirates steal it.

Why just two days ago it was Canada and camcorded movies that was the reason. My, my, how fast things change on the world prospective, or did the **AA’s change tracks too fast again. Sure looks like they running in circles with this whack-a-mole thing.

Wonder why no one believes these figures that have half a brain and see more than one article a day?

Since China seems to make two thirds of EVERYTHING, it doesn’t really mean that much, does it? cf. Bayes’s Theorem.
