MySpace on Vodaphone
p2pnet.net News:- Vodafone and MySpace say they’ve struck a deal under which Vodafone customers buying new their handsets will also get MySpace. Whether they want it or not.
Touted it as an “off-the-shelf” experience, it’s the first deal of its kind in Europe and will launch initially in the UK, says InTheNewsUK.
“Under the terms of the tie-up MySpace members can access the mobile version of the site via preloaded Vodafone handsets, although the service will also be available for download from the mobile firm’s internet service. Users will be able to edit their profiles, add friends, post photos and blogs and other activities associated with the website.”
The two also have a co-marketing deal that’s, “likely to see MySpace promoted within Vodafone advertising, thought to be the first time that the brand will be seen in major marketing campaigns in the UK,” says Guardian Unlimited, adding:
“The deal to launch MySpace Mobile marks the first extension by parent company Fox Interactive Media into the European mobile marketplace.”
