Gumby on YouTube
p2pnet.net news:- Google’s YouTube says it’ll soon feature more than 4,000 hours of old TV shows such as I Spy and Gumby.
The news follows a deal it’s struck with Digital Music Group, “an online distributor of independently owned music,” says MarketWatch, going on:
The shows will also feature DRM (Digital Restrictions Management) consumer control.
“In addition, DMGI said it plans to use YouTube’s filtering technologies to learn when songs are used without authorization on the YouTube site, the company said.”
Digital Music Group will get an undisclosed portion of revenue from ads YouTube shows on sites featuring its video and music programming, “which will be free to users when it becomes available in the coming weeks,” says the story, adding:
“YouTube eventually will use a technology that identifies Digital Music Group songs that users blend into homemade movies as soundtracks, according to The Wall Street Journal.”
