Joost Viacom deal
p2pnet.net news:- Some might fear the proliferation of online TV businesses such as Joost will crash the Net, but they’re the coming thing and now Joost is said to be close to securing a content deal with Viacom, says e-consultancy.
By contrast, Viacom demanded the removal of 100,000 of its clips from Google’s YouTube, which is currently dicing with technology it says will ID copyrighted videos.
But Joost isn’t a direct rival to YouTube because it, ‘aims to recreate the experience of watching TV online, showing full length TV shows and films, rather than just clips,’ says the story, adding it’s already concluded deals with Endemol, National Geographic, and Warner Music for their programming.
