Firm got embargoed press releases
p2pnet.net news:- A Hong-Kong chartered company hacked computer systems to get embargoed press releases, including some from Symantec and RealNetworks, so it could trade the information through an online account, says Dow Jones/Associated Press.
The Securities and Exchange Commission has sued the company, Blue Bottle Ltd, “purportedly located in London,” and Matthew Charles Stokes, 30, the sole owner, alleging improper trades in at least 12 different publicly traded US companies, says the story, going on:
“A federal judge on Monday granted the SEC’s request for a temporary restraining order against Blue Bottle and an asset freeze, said Kenneth Lench, an SEC lawyer. A preliminary injunction hearing in the matter is scheduled for March 7, he said.”
Blue Bottle’s articles of association list an address for Stokes in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the SEC said.
