Photoshop CS3: March 27
p2pnet.net news:- Adobe Photoshop is still where it’s at for a lot of people, amateurs and professionals alike, who use graphics. Many believe it couldn’t get much better than V 7.
Is that true? Creative Suite 3 will tell and according to PC Advisor, that’ll be on March 27.
CS3 will include Photoshop CS3 and, “On the day of launch the company will celebrate with a New York-based event, which will be webcast at 20.30 that evening. Adobe will also be revealing details of the features and suite configurations of the software,” says the story, pointing to a YouTube teaser featuring six people juggling a bunch of party-coloured boxes, and nothing else.
“Adobe has not yet revealed full product features and pricing,” says the story.
“The suite’s programs will be the Universal binary version for the Mac platform,” says the Wikipedia, going on:
It is unclear as to which products will be added or disbanded from the Creative Suite range, following the Macromedia acquisition.
What is clear is that Creative Suite 3 will at least feature Photoshop CS3. This major new release is already available in beta version, which will include the following new features:
- Smart filters: filters can be applied in the same way as adjustment layers in a non-destructive way. Filters no longer make hard changes to your image, but filters can be altered at any time.
- Quick selection: a new smart area selection that also works on masks and composite images.
- Vanishing point 2: the vanishing point feature of PS9 is heavily improved – allowing you to paste on perpendicular planes to fit onto anything.
Meanwhile, Adobe Systems says it plans to launch a hosted version of Photoshop within the next three to six months and although it’ll be ‘low end,’ it’ll still be, “of a higher quality than free alternatives”.

The last version of Photoshop that was uncrippled was version 6. Every release since then has had secret government-mandated features (and non-features) added. It will intentionally sabotage any image it thinks might be US currency. It also embeds hidden encodings into images so they can be tracked back to the creator. And then we all know about that famous Kat Schwartz Photoshop moment from a few years ago

Personally I only used the program a short while. It is a memory pig and has miles of features most people don’t use or need. Not to mention the ridiculous price.
Do yourself a favor, get Paintshop Pro 9…you can get it for $20 on Amazon…and it runs much smoother.
People need to stop falling for over hypped products…Ipods, Canon camera and Photoshop rank among the highest price products based too much on hype.

The thing with Cat’s pictures were that they were thumbnails form the original. Don’t want it to happen to you? Uncheck the preview when saving.
