Critical Firefox, SeaMonkey, alert
p2pnet.net news:-Firefox and SeaMonkey users should immediately upgrade to avoid serious security problems, says Mozilla.
In the fomer case, they need to go to 1.5.0.10 and 2.0.0.2, and for the latter, to 1.1.1 and 1.0.8′, it warns.
“moz_bug_r_a4 reports that the fix for MFSA 2006-72 in Firefox 1.5.0.9 and Firefox 2.0.0.1 introduced a regression that allows scripts from web content to execute arbitrary code by setting the src attribute of an IMG tag to a specially crafted javascript: URI,” it says, adding:
“The same regression also caused javascript: URIs in IMG tags to be executed even if JavaScript execution was disabled in the global preferences. This facet was noted by moz_bug_r_a4 and reported independently by Anbo Motohiko.”
Disabling JavaScript doesn’t protect against this “critical” flaw, says Mozilla.

The difference between IE and Firefox is that Firefox flaws are being plugged with great speed, whereas glitches in MS software just kind of stick around for a long, long time…

Oh yes, they don’t let a flaw hang around “for a long, long time”…
But I thought the big thig about Firefox was that it was immune to such “bugs” and “flaws”?
When will people learn, that as long as there is innovation, there will be problems and flaws, as well as people who will try to “break” it?
People sould be allowed to use what ever OS, browser they want without having someone putting it down, just because they don’t like it.
