LimeWire filters Adobe software
p2pnet.net news:- Continuing its efforts to placate the corporate powers-that-be, LimeWire says it’s, “begun to filter many Adobe products including Acrobat, Photoshop, and After Effects”.
This, “marks a significant step toward a positive relationship with software producers and means a safer peer-to-peer process for LimeWire users,” it says, adding:
“We’re looking forward to cooperating with Adobe and continuing to improve the LimeWire experience.”
Does that mean an announcement that it’s similarly reached an accord with Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG, the members of the Big 4 music cartel, is nigh?
Stay tuned.

Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Quotes of the day:
“Show me ho a filter works and I will show you how to defeat it.”.
“A sucker is born every day”
For example: If the filter works using a file name, “photoshop” can be renamed “renamed ps”. If the filter detects internal proram code just encrypt the file and zip along with the unecrypttion code file. Etc.

They made the content filter optional? I’m surprised the entertainment industry found that acceptable. Why bother with it at all, it seems like there are plenty of p2p alternatives out there.
