Kceasy” ‘One of the good guys’
Kceasy .10 Released
By Tom Mennecke – Slyck
Unlike many other FastTrack "Leech" clients existing in the P2P world, Kceasy is one of the exceptions. Like its Mac brethren Poisoned, Kceasy uses the now upgraded giFT daemon, which allows uploading onto the FastTrack network. Unfortunately, there are other developers who are using an outdated giFT plug-in to leech files off FastTrack, while offering nothing in return.
However, Kceasy is one of the good guys in the file-sharing world who recognizes the importance of contributing information to its host network.
Kceasy not only connects to FastTrack (Kazaa, Kazaa Lite, iMesh, Grokster), but also connects to Gnutella and OpenFT. With consistent upgrades and improvements, Kceasy may find itself of particular importance in the P2P world considering Random Nut does not plan to reintroduce Kazaa Lite. Will Kceasy follow Kazaa Lite’s foot steps and become the next P2P hero? Here is a rundown of the current changes in the latest release:
- Fixed rec->off == rec->len assert (giFT)
- Fixed hash_dsp != NULL assert (Gnutella)
- Fixed corrupted Gnutella downloads (Gnutella)
- Fixed interface protocol short send problem (giFT)
