Smaller, lighter Sony PSP
p2pnet.net news:- Sony, beset on all sides with problems, is to redesign its PSP handheld console, says GamesDog, quoting Sony Computer Europe UK managing director Ray Maguire.
A “smaller, lighter” system will be introduced in the future, but exactly when hasn’t been revealed, says the story.
The current PSP is just the “first iteration,” he said, according to GamesIndustry.biz, whch goes on:
“Responding to a query on Sonyââ¬â¢s plans for redesigning the system, Maguire added that any changes to the industrial design would not affect the size of PSPââ¬â¢s screen – widely seen as one of the systemââ¬â¢s key strengths – which is ‘fixed’.”
It, “won’t be the first time the company has redesigned its products to give flagging sales a further boost,” observes GamesDog. “Both the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2 had a re-working to make them slimmer and smaller and received a price reduction at the same time.”
