Woeful Wogan’s Euro Song gaffe
p2pnet.net news:- Scooch won the BBC’s Making Your Mind Up contest on who’ll represent Britain at the Eurovision Song Contest this May.
But the BBC’s very own Terry Wogan blew it, announcing Cyndi as the winner.
“Nobody died, it’s a TV programme,” the Beeb has the now woeful Wogan saying. “It wasn’t the general election. People got a bit confused.”
And to the non-winner?
“Bad luck on Cyndi,” said Wogan. “My apologies for any embarrassment she may have suffered but it probably wouldn’t do her career any harm, either.”
Cyndi Almouzni “was hoping to represent the UK even though she is French,” says What’s On TV, quoting her as saying:
“Very honestly, I wasn’t understanding what was going on because it was so fast. I did not know what was going on. It was pretty fast and they corrected it.”
