Hilary YouTube video creator named

p2pnet.net news:- A former strategist with the firm which designed Obama’s web site admits he’s responsible for the Knock Hillary Clinton video which has swept the Net.

We say “former” because Blue State Digital’s Philip de Vellis, aka ParkRidge47, “resigned after hearing he was about to be reported as the creator by the Huffington Post blog,” says The San Francisco Chronicle.

“It may be the most stunning and creative attack ad yet for a 2008 presidential candidate – one experts say could represent a watershed moment in 21st century media and political advertising,” said the Chronicle in an earlier story.

It has ranks of zombie-like drones getting The Word from Hilary, as well as a female athlete with Obama on her track vest.

Shades of a 1984 Apple commercial, as the story points out.

“In a Huffington Post blog Wednesday titled ‘Phil de Vellis, aka ParkRidge 47,’ the creator calls himself ‘a proud Democrat who supports Sen. Obama’ but says he would support Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, if she were the nominee,” says the most recent Chronicle post, going on, “He insisted he did the work ‘on a Sunday afternoon in my apartment using my personal equipment’ and then uploaded it to YouTube.com and sent links around to other blogs.”

And, “This ad was not the first citizen ad, and it will not be the last,” he wrote. “The game has changed.”

The Obama campaign or its employees, “had no knowledge and had nothing to do with the creation of the ad,” says an Obama campaign statement, and, “The Clinton campaign had no comment,” says the story.

But, “the situation for Obama is sticky because of the Blue State ties to the Obama campaign” and the ad was a, “negative hit on Clinton,” says the Chicago Sun Times. “Obama has been arguing that his campaign will be different in that producing negative ads is political business as usual.”

De Vellis “customized a famous 1984 spot for Apple Computers and admitted on his posting,” adds the story.

He’ll no doubt receive plenty of new job offers.
