MPAA investigators on hit list
p2pnet.net news:- Crime bosses in Malaysia have put the word out on two MPAA piracy investigators.
Whack them!
That’s what the New Straits Times is reporting, anyway.
Threatened with death, says the story, are Lucky and Flo, the two black labrador retrievers featured in the latest Hollywood farce.
They’ve been trained to detect the scent of polycarbonate, used in the manufacture of DVDs, and this qualifies them to sniff out pirated discs, claims Hollywood’s MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America).
Of course it does no such thing. But never mind. It makes great copy.
Now, “It is learnt that an undisclosed bounty has been put up by syndicate bosses,” says the story, quoting ministry of domestic trade and consumer affairs enforcement assistant director, Firdaus Zakaria. Syndicate members are looking for the dogs, he warns.
“The dogs are a genuine threat to the pirated disc syndicates, thus the instruction to eliminate them.”
heh
Wonder who started that rumour? ;P
Zakaria “didn’t elaborate on the information received by the ministry,” says Guardian Unlimited, adding, “Firdaus and senior ministry officials could not be immediately reached for further details on the report.”
Don’t bother to stay tuned.

Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!

Doesn’t this smell of Riaa Mpaa Dirty tricks. The Anti P2P groups have been trying ( and failing I might add ) to make the assertion that P2P’ers are Mafia or organized crime rings made up of dangerous criminals. this is essential for them to get laws passed to put you in jail for downloading a movie or song. this supposed threat helps them put forth this ludicrous case. I don’t know about you but I don’t make a dime off P2P and neither do you most likely. What they don’t want is REALITY – which is people DL movies and music for personal enjoyment and the more you demonize us the more people I and others will teach to do this. PS- Hollywood why would i pay 12$ to see the caliber of releases you now put out, you obviously pay reviewers because they give good reviews to almost every piece of garbage you shoot down the pipe I cant count the movies ive DL’ed and watch 5 minutes and deleted.
gotta go train some new P2P’ers later all.
