Jack Valenti suffers a stroke
p2pnet.net news:- Hollywood’s former Main Man, Jack Valenti, is in Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Hospital having suffered a stroke, says CNN.
Valenti, who ran the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) for nearly 40 years, was a World War II bomber pilot and also worked for ex-US president Lyndon B. Johnson as a “special assistant”.
“He lived in the White House for the first two months of Johnson’s presidency,” says the Wikipedia, going on:
“Valenti was so loyal to Johnson that it was once said of him ‘If LBJ dropped the H-bomb, Valenti would call it an urban renewal project’.”
Three years later, Valenti became president and ceo of the MPAA, resigning in 2004.
“We are facing a very new and a very troubling assault on our fiscal security, on our very economic life and we are facing it from a thing called the video cassette recorder and its necessary companion called the blank tape,” he declared in 1982.
“And it is like a great tidal wave just off the shore. This video cassette recorder and the blank tape threaten profoundly the life-sustaining protection, I guess you would call it, on which copyright owners depend, on which film people depend, on which television people depend and it is called copyright.”

So the guy is a shitbag that represented The MPAA in protecting their business interests againest pirates and other people that frequent this website that participate in intellectual property theft of all different types there should not be any hard feelings towards the man.
America is not Canada.
Everything in the United States for better or worse (mostly worse ) in industry is motivated by corporate greed.
Never mind that the MPAA has the US Congrees in their pockets taking kickbacks and bribes through their lobbyists.
A lot of young people nowdays feel if they just had to pay a penny for a movie dvd that would be entirely too money and they would expect it for free.
Face it like the MPAA commercial says ” illegal downloading is unsuitable for any age.”
