Apple’s Boot Camp beta
p2pnet.net news:- Long after Bill and the Boyz released Vista, Apple is touting a beta of what it says is a “new technology called Boot Camp” so users can install and run Windows on Intel-based Macs.
One can hardly call it ‘new’ and to get it, Apple wants your email address, plus details of what kind of Mac you use, and whether you’ll be using XP or Vista.
You’ll need Mac OS X Tiger v10.4.6 or later, the latest EFI Boot ROM and SMC firmware updates, at least 10 gigs of free hard disk space and, “a bona fide full, 32-bit, single-disc version of Microsoft Windows: Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2, Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business, or Windows Vista Ultimate”.
Also check out the OnMac.net wiki for details on other applications, one of them open source, which’ll let you run Linux as well as Windows on Macintels.

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local politicians. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!
