Dump Apple DRM
p2pnet.net news:- Strange to say, there are people in the world willing to pay Apple a dollar a go for music downloads shackled by DRM (Digital Restrictions Management) consumer control.
“FairPlay is a digital rights management (DRM) technology created by Apple Inc., built in to the QuickTime multimedia technology and used by the iPod, iTunes, and the iTunes Store,” says the Wikipedia. “Every file bought from the iTunes Store with iTunes is encoded with FairPlay. It digitally encrypts AAC audio files and prevents users from playing these files on unauthorized computers.”
However, BurningThumb says its DRM Dumpster is, “the legal way to convert DRM tracks from iTunes to standard files.”
It, “uses a CD-RW and iTunes itself to convert all of the DRM music files in your library or in a play list of your choice to files that you can use with any music player,” says the download site, promising, “With DRM Dumpster you can create MP3, AAC, Apple Lossles, AIFF, or WAV files from your DRM files.”
The application is free as-is, but if you can also pay $30, including S&H, on High Speed CD-RW and have, “DRM Dumpster delivered to your door, super fast conversion performance” at the same time supporting DRM Dumpster’s development.

This appears to be nothing more than a script to burn tracks to a CD and then rip them again. This ultimately results in reduced sound quality due to transcoding, and the DMCA is vague enough to consider even this as illegal circumvention, even if it doesn’t involve unauthorized decoding.
