Clear Channel fined $500,000
p2pnet.net News:- Is Howard Stern really worth half-a-million dollars?
That’s what the odious Clear Channel Communications must be asking itself after being nailed for $495,000 in proposed forfeitures for content broadcast by the Federal Communication Commission.
The FCC says Clear Channel Communications was broadcasting “indecent” material from Stern’s syndicated daily radio show on its stations.
“In its ruling, the FCC said it determined that material that aired as part of Stern’s April 9, 2003, broadcast included ‘repeated, graphic and explicit sexual descriptions that were pandering, titillating or used to shock the audience’,” says MTV.com here.
For the first time, the commission assessed a fine against “more than a single utterance, rather than counting an entire program as one utterance,” it quotes FCC Chairman Michael Copps as saying.
Technically not a fine, an FCC “proposed forfeiture” asks a company to forfeit money for violating FCC regulations, MTV says, going on that a company has 30 days to challenge a proposed forfeiture, and if the company fails to act within that period of time, the FCC enlists the aid of the Justice Department to collect the requested funds.
“The latest penalty comes on the heels of a ruling last month in which the FCC hit Infinity Broadcasting, which produces Stern’s show, with a forfeiture of $27,500,” it adds.
Clear Channel has already been fined $755,000 for broadcasting filth on its disgusting Bubba the Love Sponge.

It makes you embarrassed to be an American. A place where a nude body is sinful and flatulence is obscene. Never mind that we can invade countries for no reason and undermine the power of the UN. Christ, I need to pack my bags and move somewhere less evil or at least a place that understands humility.
