p2pnet.net news:- Thailand has blocked YouTube following complaints about a clip, “insulting to the country’s beloved monarch,” says Associated Press.
“Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom, the country’s minister of information and technology, said YouTube had turned down his request to remove the contentious 44-second video, which shows graffitti-like elements painted over a slideshow of photographs of 79-year-old King Bhumibol Adulyadej,” says the story.
“One part of the clip juxtaposes pictures of feet over the king’s image - a major taboo in a culture where feet are considered extremely dirty and offensive,” says the story
In March, “Turkey blocked the country for a short-time after a video appeared that was insulting to the founder of modern Turkey,” observes Zac Bissonnette on bloggingstocks, going on:
A Brazilian court had the site blocked after videos of a famous actress from the country with her lover appeared on the site.
And so, as a patriotic American, I am here to make an impassioned plea to the American government. In recent weeks, numerous videos have appeared on YouTube making fun of one of our nation’s most talented and beloved entertainers. I’m speaking, of course, of Sanjaya. Consider this clip of the Sanjaya Anthem.
We simply cannot stand for this crude mockery of our national treasure.
For the uninitiated, Sanjaya Malakar (above right) is an American Idol idol.

And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!
