If think that calling Jon Newton a Liar that then you must not understand “There are Lies, Damn Lies and then there is Statistics” is talking about.

You can prove anything by statistics. Ask the right people and will get the answers you want.

As for me being stupid well once you have completed 4 grade you will be able to call me that, until then…

Yes, very good idea, but should have a box to check-mark whether you want the notification or not. In a LOT of the msg boards I participate in, I post things I’m interested in seeing what responses I get and sometimes I couldn’t care less what others think.

Comment response notification? Good idea. I’ve added that to the list, Matt.

Meanwhile, the mainstream credo is ‘fair and balanced reporting,’ and IMHO rarely is it fair and balanced, particularly when it comes to circumstances surrounding the way music, and other materials, are handled and distributed online.

I’m only one person and I realise I’m small potatoes. But as a human being, I really am deeply angered by the way in which the cartels are allowed to ride roughshod over the very people who made them so rich.

p2pnet is what it is. I’m not trying to sit on both sides of the fence. But I’ll promise you this, Matt: more than once I’ve wondered why I bother because here it is, Easter Sunday, and I’m still at it. Why? Because I honest-to-God believe if we don’t stand up against these vicious bullies, they’ll trample us and far, far worse, their actions will ultimately have a horribly damaging effect on our children and they way they live their lives.

Are my efforts worth it? I’m damned if I know, but I’m doing the absolute best I can with what I have.

I suppose it wasn’t explicitly stated in any of your stories that they are unbiased, but I certainly did get the impression that they claimed to be, at least after some of them trashed the more mainstream sources for being biased. Usually I see the bashing of an entity by another in that same field as the latter claiming some sort of superiority over the former, so the statement seemed to be implied. I think I also saw that claim of lack of bias in some posts of contributing editors as well, although I can’t back that up. So, my apologies.

One thing I would really like to see is some sort of notification system to notify registered commenters when their comments have been replied to. Currently the only way I can tell if someone replied to my comments is to look back in my browsing history, and this poses a problem as all p2pet pages have the same title.

I totally agree with this…

That would also be my biggest complaint about p2pnet. I would imagine that a more neutral perspective would improve the apparent legitimacy of the site as a news resource.

I’ve been reading for over a year and usually enjoy your journalistic slant, but I’m afraid this survey was just too lopsided. It would have been so much more meaningful were it evenhandedly phrased. 99% of the world is already on your side, Jon. No need to corral us so aggressively.

Your articles, on the other hand, benefit from this bias. I love hearing your opinion on the matters you bring up.
