Larry, Sergey and Eric: filthy rich
p2pnet.net OT news:- Billionaire Bill’s ranking as The Man with the Most (Money) isn’t yet under serious threat, but coming up behind are Larry, Sergey and Eric.
Gates totted up an indecent $56 billion in 2006, while his mate and mentor, Warren Buffett, pulled down $52 billion.
But although Googlers-in-chief Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt together earned a paltry $3 by way of salaries, their combined Google shares were worth $31.5 billion the end of the year, says the BBC, continuing:
Mr Schmidt’s “other compensation”, was $555,742 while Mr Page’s hit $36,795. For both men, much of this went towards personal security.
One perk was Mr Schmidt’s corporate jet, also used by other executives.
Of Mr Schmidt’s “other compensation”, over 95% – $532,755 – was for personal security.
All three executives saw bonuses of $1,723, but Mr Brin, president of technology, did not receive “other compensation”.
Brin’s Google shares were worth $13.2 billion, Page’s came to $13.4 billion, and Schmidt’s were worth $4.9 billion by year end, adds the Beeb.
But who’s counting, eh? ;P
